About the Program

Aspiring performers in rising 5th through rising 9th grades will strengthen their musical theatre skills through focused work in acting, singing, and stage movement — while gaining an inside look at the full rehearsal process behind a professionally staged production.

Campers will bring that growth to life in two final performances on the Allentown High School stage on Thursday, August 6 at 2 pm and 6 pm.

Collaborate with passionate artists, build confidence onstage, and take your theatre training to the next level.

Our Productions

Each summer, our carefully chosen production carries a wholesome message with positive values. Past productions include:

Mary Poppins Jr., High School Musical Jr., Willy Wonka Jr., 101 Dalmatians Kids, The Aristocats Kids, Annie Jr., Seussical Jr., Through the Looking Glass, James and the Giant Peach Jr., Dear Edwina Jr., Honk Jr. — and more.

What to Expect

Our dedicated and energetic team fosters the development of skills including:

  • Stage presence

Campers learn to command attention with confidence — developing posture, projection, and the awareness that transforms a performer from someone on a stage into someone who owns it.

  • Character Development

Students explore how to build a believable character from the inside out — understanding motivation, emotion, and storytelling to bring their role to life in an authentic and compelling way.

  • Vocal Training

From breath support and pitch to phrasing and stylistic expression, campers receive focused instruction that strengthens their singing voice and helps them connect emotionally with every song.

  • Choreography & Blocking

Campers learn how movement and staging tell the story — picking up choreography with precision while understanding how blocking shapes a scene, guides the audience's eye, and creates visual impact.

  • Improvisation & Creativity

Through games and exercises, students develop quick thinking, spontaneity, and the freedom to take creative risks — skills that make for stronger performers and more confident collaborators in any setting.

  • Theatrical Process

Campers get a real inside look at how a production comes together — from first read-throughs and rehearsals to tech week and opening night, building professional habits and respect for the craft.

  • Ensemble Work

Great theatre is built on trust and teamwork. Campers learn to listen, support one another, and perform as a unified cast — discovering that the strength of every individual makes the whole production shine.

The staff at CCAP is second to none; each brought a wealth of talent and experience that brought out the best in each camper. Students had to learn quickly and relied on teamwork and trust to make sure the musical was the best it could be. CCAP was an amazing experience and definitely brought out so much talent that was within our daughter.

What sets this camp apart is the dedication of the teachers and counselors who go above and beyond to create a nurturing atmosphere. Their commitment ensures that every child feels valued and supported, enabling them to shine during performances.

My son has participated in Cornerstone Community Arts Project: Music and Theatre Arts Camp for the past two years, performing in Willy Wonka Jr. and High School Musical Jr. He had an amazing experience each time, making new friends, building confidence, and developing his acting, singing, and dancing skills. He looks forward to this camp because of the welcoming community, the fun rehearsals, and the opportunity to perform in such high-quality productions. We will definitely be signing up again this summer!
